1. We may have brought too much. But having never done this length of trip before, it was hard to tell. We've been packing down and re-packing stuff though almost every day. We're getting closer to a "tighter ship" but not quite there yet.
2. Along those same lines, everything has a home. One will learn that when one does not put something back in its home, one cannot find that thing anymore. (Seems like this only happens to me though... for some reason).
3. There is a lot to take in at the parks, so being in the moment is crucial. I find it takes practice and hope to be better at it as time goes on out here.
4. Sleeping in the bus is actually super cozy and comfortable unless you have irrational fears of bears attacking your bus for the food inside.
5. Despite months of work on the Little Runaway, there will always be things to fix on the bus. The wheels have already come off for a check of something or other and we're hoping to fix a small but annoying issue with the speakers soon. It's seriously affecting our ability to rock out on the road.
6. We've been on the move quite a bit so far (a new place every night). We are looking forward to a sunny place where we can spend several days.
7. Wish I was writing and reading more but its early still and like I said we've been seriously on the move thus far. Writing the blog updates is a good outlet though.
8. 2 things here. First, mountain roads are beautifully scenic and so much better than being on I-5 or some other major interstate. That being said, I appear to have another irrational fear of the bus tipping over the edge despite Mike's excellent and trustworthy driving skills. I'm sure I'll learn to let go and relax on the next one.
9. Life would be miserable without thick skins. We have been searching for sun, however, we don't appear to be finding it for any longer than a day or 2 at a time and the nights have still been chilly. I would not be having as much fun if I didn't have the quality thick skins made by Immersion Research. Thanks IR.
10. Lastly, make sure the showers work before you strip. Feels a bit awkward to be standing there shoving quarters into a machine and getting nothing in return. Had to use the Men's shower that day with my bodyguard standing by.
Sounds like it's been and being an adventure! The good with the bad. :) Hope you find sun SOON!
